Corporate Telephone Preference Service (CTPS)

Following an amendment to Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC) regulations in June 2004, businesses must now adhere to strict regulations regarding unsolicited sales and marketing calls.

CTPS is the central opt out register whereby corporate subscribers can register their objection to receiving unsolicited sales and marketing calls to either all or individual business telephone numbers.Organisations that run direct sales and marketing campaigns and do not comply with the CTPS regulation risk being find up to £5,000 for each unsolicited call.
