In summary:
Providing day-to-day support for 1st line NOC (network operations centre) engineers of 8el customer data networks, including configuration and fault management. The role will suit someone currently working in a support environment at 2nd line and looking for more of a challenge.
Based in our office in Reading, with occasional site visits as required. This may include going to our core network centre in London.
After approximately six months in the role, the candidate will be required to join the 2nd line call rota. This is a paid duty (currently £300 per week).
Responsibilities include:
Administration of 8el data network, currently running at 270 Cisco routers, and 100 ATM CPE devices for 100+ customers, including Williams F1, Blackbox and Trend Micro. Networks vary from one site running a single E1 to 30 site WAN using DSL, E1, DS3 and 10/100 LES circuits.
Successful candidates will have:

MUST have prior fault finding experience |

MUST have knowledge of Cisco routers |

Must have completed CCNA qualification and have at least 1 years experience ? maybe part way through a CCNP certification |

Knowledge of Cisco routers/switches (all makes, models and varieties including IOS) |

Experience in using various protocols: ATM, EIGRP, OSPF, ISDN, MPLS, Ethernet, GPRS, RAS, VoIP, PPP, XDSL, VLAN, QoS to name a few |

Knowledge of Inernet protocols, this will include SSL encryption and IPSEC |

Salary £27,000 - £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience) |

Hours:
(9 hours Monday – Thursday with an hour for lunch; 8 hours on Friday with an hour for lunch)
