Reading, UK, June 6th, 2005 --- 8el has secured a 3 year contract worth over £300,000 to provide legal firm Morgan Cole with a converged solution for the transit of data and voice traffic across its network of eight offices.

Due to go live by September 2005, 8el’s fully managed Wide Area Network (WAN) will deliver additional functionality and efficiency whilst allowing Morgan Cole to preserve its existing investment in telecoms infrastructure. Using the new network, quality-of-service commitment is guaranteed for prioritising voice traffic over the WAN.

Morgan Cole, a UK law firm working in specialist legal and industry-focused teams across London, the Thames Valley and South Wales, chose 8el for its track record in providing this type of solution into similar businesses.

Due to the confidential nature of data traffic, Morgan Cole required a totally secure network. For improved security and data transit speeds, 8el’s solution provides un-contended access between sites, guaranteeing a consistent, high quality user experience for over 450 users. In addition, a secure private connection to each UK site will be made available with a single Internet gateway; further augmenting network security.

A key requirement for Morgan Cole was to build in the capacity to roll-out applications over the new WAN infrastructure such as DPNSS over IP and thin client services. The 8el DPNSS to IP solution will allow internal and transferred calls to be routed down a single ATM connection, without compromising on the functionality of the enhanced voice signalling.

DPNSS voice traffic will be configured with an ATM class of service, giving DPNSS calls priority over other data traffic being routed across the network. This ensures that voice quality is maintained at the highest level. Additionally, the solution eliminates the requirement for separate, costly point-to-point communication trunks.

8el will also provide a centralised firewall, Internet servers, and ISP connectivity via its co-location facility in London. Once installed, 8el’s co-location service will remove any such single point of failure for Morgan Cole, increase network speeds and deliver more efficient use of bandwidth.
