8el CallPort offers an intuitive, IP based Operator Console which delivers a number of compelling advantages. The Operator Console gives CallPort users a wide range of call handling management facilities, activated via a simple Windows based user interface, complete with familiar ‘drag and drop’ tools.
User benefits
IP technology means that telecom services are no longer fixed on a geographic location, so there is no need to have an operator on every site. The Operator Console includes the ability to centralise call management, as well as holiday and sickness cover, by using an operator at an alternative site. For example, in the case of a local disaster, the operator could even maintain full switchboard functionality working from a laptop at home.
The Operator Console also provides all the functionality of a powerful voice conferencing bridge. 8el's easy to use conferencing service enables the switchboard operator to control a conference, adding and removing participants using the standard drag and drop method. The operator can also communicate privately with any of the participants and through a simple colour code system can check the status of the callers and whether they require assistance.
For more traditional operations, functions keys and the keypad are also able to control basic call functions such as answering and transferring calls.
