High speed SDSL services
8el's private SDSL (Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line) service is a technology that provides high- speed "always on" access designed for small to medium sized businesses. If required SDSL can be utilised as a backup connection to a leased line service delivered over fibre.
SDSL requires a dedicated analogue line and cannot share lines with an analogue telephone.
Unlike other forms of DSL service, SDSL is symmetric, which means you get the same download and upload speed.
SDSL speeds include 256Kbps to 2Mbps with contentions of 1:1, 5:1, and 10:1.
| Download bandwidth | Upload bandwidth | Contention | ISDN backup |
| 2Mbps | 2Mbps | 1:1, 5:1, 10:1 | *128Kbps |
| 1Mbps | 1Mbps | 1:1, 5:1, 10:1 | *128Kbps |
| 512Kbps | 512Kbps | 1:1, 5:1, 10:1 | *128Kbps |
| 256Kbps | 256Kbps | 1:1, 5:1, 10:1 | *128Kbps |
* Optional ISDN backup when using a Cisco 1800 router.
