Private WAN DSL services
8el's fully managed, private DSL service offers cost effective and secure connectivity between small offices, home office (SOHO) and an organisations head office. By utilising SDSL and ADSL technology a dedicated, private circuit is established to deliver fast, secure and quality data transit for a fraction of the cost of running traditional Frame-Relay or Kilostream connections. Additionally as the services are delivered over a private infrastructure this will reduce the cost and management overhead of configuring a public VPN solution with multiple firewalls.
Access to the Internet can be provided via a centralised gateway located within the 8el core. Digital Subscriber Line (xDSL) technologies allows data to be sent across a copper (or analogue) circuit that would traditionally only be used for telephony. DSL alleviates the need to install new cabling systems such as fibre optic thus utilising existing copper that may have been otherwise unused.
DSL is a distance-sensitive access technology meaning that the available speed reduces the further the customer is from the local exchange.

ISDN backup
All DSL services can be provided with ISDN backup as a seamless fail over in the event that the primary DSL connection is unavailable.
Routers
8el is able to offer a range of routers dependent upon the customer's specific requirements. Routers range from D-Link for individual home worker to Cisco 1800 for larger offices where the customer requires ISDN backup.
Voice over IP (VoIP)
ADSL Plus and SDSL are ideal DSL technologies for supporting VoIP from a small office or home office back to the 8el IP Centrex voice platform or a customer IP PABX hosted at a head office.
