VoIP to be adopted by 79% of US businesses by 2013
Some 79 per cent of businesses in the US will have adopted the medium of voice over internet protocol by 2013, it has been revealed.
Research from In-Stat showed that 42 per cent of businesses in the States have already deployed VoIP solutions, but this figure is set to rise rapidly over the coming three years, reported CIOL.
"VoIP adopters have a good understanding of the cost savings associated with VoIP and have oriented their limited budgets to optimising efficiency and savings by replacing legacy voice solutions," commented David Lemelin, analyst for In-Stat.
He went on to add that efficiencies and savings can be maximised for businesses when the technology is invested in at the company headquarters.
Furthermore, the report suggested that broadband internet protocol will continue to grow and is expected to more than double by 2013.
George Van Horn, senior analyst at IbisWorld, recently advised that VoIP is likely to supersede traditional business networks over the next ten years.
