Scope of VoIP 'increasing day by day'
The scope of voice over internet protocol (VoIP) is increasing every day, causing more and more people to become attracted to the technology, it has been stated.
Internet technology website TMCnet says that VoIP has enabled millions of users to enjoy free calls, meaning that they do not have to worry about making costly international landline calls if they have friends or relatives overseas.
Additionally, it praises the medium of VoIP in terms of allowing consumers to make calls through the internet without having to adopt any extra connectivity equipment.
The site goes on to describe the technology as "wonderful"; and says that it is simple for those who have a broadband connection to get on board and use VoIP.
"With such highly affordable means of communication, now the user can easily stay in touch with his family and friends and talk to them for hours," TMCnet comments.
George Van Horn, senior analyst at IbisWorld, recently said that VoIP is the "new generation" of telecommunications.
