Quality and price of VoIP 'attractive to businesses'
The quality and low price of voice over internet protocol (VoIP) is making the technology increasingly attractive to businesses, one expert has stated.
George Van Horn, senior analyst at IbisWorld, says that this could lead to the medium being expanded among the commercial sector.
"It is likely that growth will accelerate and businesses will switch to this platform due to the cost savings associated," he suggests.
Recent research from Frost and Sullivan backs up Mr Van Horn's comments, revealing that the current economic downturn is persuading more companies to adopt the medium in order to cut costs.
Analyst for the company Jayalakshmi Janakiraman advised that VoIP can lead to a reduction in the telecommunications bills of businesses, as well as offering savings that are linked with a single client network infrastructure.
The popularity of VoIP was similarly displayed by revenue growth figures from IbisWorld, which recently revealed that the medium was the "best performing industry of the decade".
