New mothers turning to VoIP to carry on working

New mothers turning to VoIP to carry on workingThe ongoing developments in the field of online business communications mean that increasing numbers of mothers are able to work from home and look after their children, it has been revealed.

Driving the trend is the growing uptake of voice over IP (VoIP) technology which is significantly improving worker flexibility, according to Karen Gill, the founder of the business resource and support service Everywoman.

"Working from home is an enormous motivator for women with children, who still do the lion's share of home and family care," she explained.

Employees of larger corporations are particularly benefiting from the shift towards flexible working practices as big businesses are more likely to invest in the technology necessary for home-working to be rolled out.

In addition, it was found that one in five of all self-employed women set up on their own due largely to their family commitments.
