Report highlights top IT offshore outsourcing opportunities
India is set to remain the global leader for global offshore spending in 2008, though spending across Europe as well as within emerging markets is set to boom, a new report has stated.
According to the latest figures published by the Gartner research group, global offshore spending is expected to grow by 40 per cent over the coming year, with this rate likely to hit 60 per cent within Europe as Ireland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Poland drive the sector forward.
While India is predicted to lead the way for some time still, China, Russia and Brazil will come to provide attractive alternatives to businesses looking to outsource their IT operations overseas, the report also stated.
Commenting on the predictions, Ian Marriott, vice president at Gartner said "The aim of the study was not to rank each country, as every organisation will have a different view of which factors are most important for their needs, but rather help sourcing managers determine which locations are right for their organisations."
The countries tipped to be the top territories to pursue IT outsourcing agreements were chosen on criteria including labour pool, infrastructure, political and economic climate, legal maturity, intellectual property security and privacy.
