Hosted centre interest soaring, new report reveals
Being able to switch the cost of contract centres from capital to operational expenditure is one of the major factors behind growing numbers of businesses turning to hosted centres, a new report has suggested.
Research carried out by Frost and Sullivan has revealed that firms within Europe, as well as in the Middle East and Africa regions, are increasingly turning to contact centres, with revenues at hosting firms soaring to £208 million in 2007.
Furthermore, as online communications technologies improve, this figure could reach £1 billion by 2014, the report also added.
Kunal Kakodkar, a research analyst at the company, explained: "Hosted contact centre suites have matured to a point where several technology vendors offer robust, secure multi-tenant solutions with tenant self-administration and enhanced data security.
"The market can grow further once these technology advances are communicated to end users."
Earlier this month the head of the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP) explained that the credit crunch and general economic downturn is likely to lead to growing numbers of organisations turning to third-party specialists to handle their IT operations.
