Data centres to be outsourcing 'bright spot' in 2008
With increasing numbers of businesses looking to outsource their IT operations to a third-party firms, 2008 is likely to see unprecedented interest in data centre specialists, a new report has predicted.
According to XMG research, the data centre sector is set to be one of the 'bright spots'; of the outsourcing industry over the coming months, with industry mergers and globalisation set to drive the trend.
In particular, businesses look likely to be drawn to the prove efficiencies of outsourcing backed computing operations, XMG's chief analyst Lauro Vives told Inquirer.net.
The predictions come as Joe Hogan, vice president of strategic programmes at Unisys, advised that a desire for greater accessibility of services, increased workforce mobility and environmental concerns will be the 'main challenges' driving IT outsourcing forward in the New Year.
"A profound transformation in how people work and do business is driving a new set of service requirements and imperatives," he told vnunet.com.
