Firms urged to keep on top of communications technology
Businesses need to take the initiative and prepare for the advancements continually being made in the field of internet communications, experts have stated.
According to The Butler Group, the forthcoming European launch of Apple's iPhone is set to put increased pressure on IT departments to integrate mobile devices into their existing networks and systems.
In addition, the growing popularity of remote working among UK employees will also add to the need to stay on top of the technological developments.
"The major challenges that mobile devices such as the iPhone cause enterprises are in the areas of security, management, control, cost and heterogeneity," said Mark Blowers, senior research analyst at the Butler Group.
"As mobile devices are increasingly used by enterprises for critical application delivery, organisations must ensure that they are managed as capably as other assets."
Since being launched in the US earlier this summer, the iPhone has been seen by many as an integral tool of modern business, with its success among office workers likely to be similar to the Blackberry according to many industry observers.
