Businesses wasting money by failing to adopt VoIP
A large majority of UK businesses could make significant financial savings through the adoption of internet communications systems, new figures show.
According to the research carried out by YouGov on behalf of Inclarity, 65 per cent of workers make business-related calls from their office mobile phones at least twice a day, racking up large bills in the process.
Statistics recently released by JD Power show that the average monthly phone bill for a small business with ten employees in the UK stands at £441.80.
Of the businesses questioned, 42 per cent said that they would welcome the availability of at least one fixed mobile convergence (FMC) device given that it could be used as both a home and mobile phone while also allowing for lower bills.
"FMC could save UK businesses a significant amount of money as well as ensure better efficiency of staff," said Dave Millett, operations director at Inclarity.
"The key to FMC deployment within businesses is that they use a tried and tested business-grade solution, rather than deploying Skype-like products and expecting it to be business ready," he added.
