8el supplies data network for charitable foundation The Papworth Trust
Reading, UK, April 28th, 2008 --- Specialist network provider 8el has announced the delivery of an upgraded data network to leading disabilities charity, The Papworth Trust. 8el’s solution will provide a secure, fully managed Wide Area Network (WAN) and uncontended Internet access from all locations.
The Papworth Trust is one of the UK's leading disability charities and the latest charity to benefit from 8el’s flexible communications solutions. 8el’s unique combination of expertise, technology and broad range services have made it the supplier of choice for a number of charitable organisations such as BTCV, New Dimensions Group, WRVS and The Blue Cross.
Mr Paul Toms, IT Manager at The Papworth Trust commented, “8el’s strong base in the charity sector was appealing and they offered a flexible, cost effective WAN solution that also enables our remote sites and workers to securely connect to our central resources and the Internet.”
The Papworth Trust have received a fully managed QoS enabled WAN allowing prioritisation of applications and centralised Internet access from all UK offices. 8el will deploy private ADSL connections for the remote locations to enable remote business users to access applications or files located centrally and the Internet via 8el’s uncontended ISP service. They also house their Firewall at the 8el core to provide a secure, fully managed co-location environment.
The network is fully scaleable and working in partnership with 8el provides a future proof communications solution to match the changing needs of the business. The Papworth Trust is currently looking into adopting 8el’s telephony services in addition to the current network. Paul Toms continued, “Utilising 8el’s WAN and implementing our voice through 8el provides us with a clear road map towards our strategy for a full migration to Next Generation Networking.”
