Glotel opt for future proof 8el voice network
Reading, UK, June, 2006 --- 8el has secured a 12 month contract to supply leading recruitment specialist Glotel with an upgraded voice network.
As part of their drive to improve voice quality across their network, drive down costs and improve resilience, Glotel began searching for the right supplier in 2005. Following a market review the London based company finally selected 8el as the supplier of choice based on these requirements.
8el's new network will initially provide direct voice services for the companies 3 UK offices with seamless ISDN backup as added resilience.
Said Mr Adi-Buer Puplampu, Glotel's head of voice, "This new voice network represents just the beginning in terms of our long term plan to implement a future Next Generation Network, with a fully managed, converged voice and data network."
In addition to the direct voice solution, the proposed network will also include an increased capacity private 8el Wide Area Network (WAN) into all three UK offices with a back up network. For phase two of the project, 8el will deliver centralised Internet access (due to go live in Quarter 3 2006).
As an additional cost saving, Glotel has also opted to use 8el's line rental service (LineConnect), involving the transfer (novation) of BT ISDN and analogue lines across to 8el. Management through 8el will further free up associated IT resources at Glotel.
Network monitoring tools provided by 8el under its CallWatch brand will also empower Glotel to make better informed decisions about their network. This is achieved through the installation of specialised Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) that acts as a virtual on-site engineer and gives increased network visibility regarding call usage across the network.
