8el releases enhancements to the CallPort Voicemail offering
Further to customer feedback and recent in-house developments, 8el's managed VoIP phone system now provides equal functionality to leading voicemail systems and significant advantage over IP Centrex providers.
This enhancement delivers increased flexibility of Voicemail handling and provides full control to the user of mailbox management. This, alongside the Unified Messaging capabilities already in place on the platform makes the CallPort Voicemail functionality a competitive and user friendly and rounded solution.
The Voicemail functionality has been added to provide flexibility to both office based and remote workers.
Key enhancements include:
1. Remote access to voicemail via a central number
Rather than dialing in via the users unique DDI, users now gain access to a central number to access voicemail remotely. Perfect for users on the road or regularly out of the office.
2. Copying and forwarding of Voicemail between mailboxes
How many times have you received a Voicemail which is actually for someone else? Time spent transposing the message and passing on to the correct person is a thing of the past. The CallPort Voicemail feature enables users to copy a Voicemail directly to another user's mailbox by simply keying '#' before the extension number. This is particularly useful for when group mailboxes are used.
3. Enhancement to personalised message via a daily message option
This function allows users to record a temporary message that lasts for a configurable number of hours. The user can enter the number of hours the message is to last, prior to reverting to the original greeting.
4. Voicemail breakout
Previously, if a call was made to a user with voicemail set up, the only thing to do was either leave a message or disconnect the call. Voicemail breakout has now been configured as part of the Voicemail message. Simply by pressing '0', your call can be directed to a call group, user or even an external, pre-configured telephone number.
