8el appoints high profile Chairman to join the Board

Reading, UK, March 18th, 2002 --- 8el , the Reading based voice and data network service provider announces the expansion of the board with the appointment of Dr Ed Hough (ex Group Board Director of Securicor and Cellnet, now MMO2) as Non-Executive Chairman.

The wealth of experience Ed brings, accumulated from chairing and running a number of quoted companies (both in the UK and US) will guide 8el through the next stages of development. Ed will play an integral part in validating company strategies going forward as well as managing the 8el investor interface.

Justin Hamilton-Martin, Managing Director comments;'Ed is currently Chairman of four other companies in the Telecom and IT space. His proven track record in the industry, particularly in respect of bringing companies to market and handling their rapid growth, will be invaluable to 8el over the coming period.'

Dr Ed Hough comments; 8el has reached an exciting size and phase of development. The management team are extremely capable and the business model is already showing strong shareholder value. The business is on target to be cash-flow positive before the end of 2002 and the customer base is growing at a significant rate. One of the main attractions to 8el is the total lack of debt - an unusual corporate characteristic in today's telecoms marketplace. I feel confident that the customer service focus and 8el 's unique approach will continue to deliver significant value to all concerned and am looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead.'
