8el helps architects firm PRC Group upgrade to IP Centrex - delivering cost savings and increased productivity across the business
Reading, UK, December 10th, 2007 --- IP telephony specialists 8el has announced it has been selected to supply leading architectural firm PRC Group with an upgraded next generation communications network. 8el will deliver a cost effective Wide Area Network (WAN) and centralised Internet access which will enable the implementation of its Next Generation Network (NGN) IP Centrex solution.
PRC Group’s incumbent telephony systems were coming to end of life and its existing data network capacity was proving insufficient to meet its business needs. 8el proposed a solution to match these requirements based on its Next Generation Network platform.

The key component of the network is the displacement of PRC’s existing PABXs, with the implementation of 8el’s CallPort IP Centrex. The solution is designed to boost productivity and match modern working practices, breaking geographical boundaries to create a communications experience that allows for flexible and mobile working. In addition, CallPort will deliver a number of financial benefits to PRC Group including free local, national and on-net calls plus the ability to rationalise its ISDN line rentals.
By deploying a Quality of Service (QoS) enabled WAN to connect PRC Group’s three UK sites to 8el's carrier grade NGN gateways, it receives centralised access to corporate services and a single point of ownership, without needing a PABX on each site, eliminating the need for capital expenditure plus the associated maintenance costs. Additionally by using the advanced routing capabilities of the 8el NGN network, PRC Group is able to maintain business continuity at all times, another crucial factor in its choice.
