VoIP offers 'low cost' for consumers
More people are now taking the opportunity to invest in VoIP services as a means of making their communications more efficient.
There are many benefits to the systems, which have been outlined by Digital Journal writer Jack Kapica, who told the website that the hardware allows him to make inexpensive calls.
Mr Kapica told the site that VoIP "has a lot to offer, especially the low cost" and even suggested that there could be more improvements to come with the systems.
He explained that the sound quality of some of the devices could be improved, a change which may be made by designers in the future.
British residents in particular could be enjoying improved VoIP services, after an Ofcom study found that broadband speeds across the country have increased by 22 per cent over the last year.
The watchdog found that the average speed of connections in November 2011 was 7.6Mbps, which is an increase from the 6.2Mpbs figure recorded a year earlier.
