Cornwall patients to benefit from VoIP?
Patients throughout Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly could benefit from VoIP services, following the announcement of new technology.
As part of its Telehealth programme, NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly has declared ambitions to install remote healthcare technology, which could see face-to-face discussions taking place over video links.
Dave Tyas, Telehealth and Service Improvement Manager for Peninsula Community Health, the social enterprise for adult community health NHS services, said: "As its early pioneers, we are determined to stay ahead of the game and ensure that as many local patients as possible benefit from this healthcare evolution in the future."
Mr Tyas added that new opportunities to support a wider number of patients will be explored in the future.
Andy Abramson, author of VoIPWatch, recently stated that cloud-based VoIP services can save money for businesses.
Mr Abramson noted that information technology or telecom managers are able to do less work thanks to the services.
