'Perceived difficulties' preventing firms adopting flexible working technologies

'Perceived difficulties' preventing firms adopting flexible working technologiesTwo-thirds of UK small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) have not introduced flexible working technologies into their business because of the perceived difficulties of integration.

A study by LifeSize showed that only 33 per cent have opted to bring in facilities like wide area networking to allow employees to work from home or other areas with internet access.

The firm noted that the £40 billion fund from the government which was announced in the Autumn Budget will give businesses the opportunity to purchase high quality communication tools.

Michael Stephens, UK and Ireland general manager at LifeSize, said: "However, with the cost of travel set to increase, the predicted bad weather and the continuous need to reduce costs will mean looking for innovative ways to do things differently. One way is to introduce a high quality, interoperable and business-ready solutions at an accessible cost."

Flexible working has many benefits for staff, including allowing them to enjoy a better work-life balance as they can operate from home whenever they need to.
