Flexible working has 'big impact' on job satisfaction
Flexible working has a much larger impact on job satisfaction than pensions, a study has suggested.
Over 75 per cent of workers believe that flexible working boosts their job satisfaction and enhances their work and life balance, with only one in five members of staff seriously considering changing who they work for in the next year, according to research from Vodafone UK.
Peter Kelly, enterprise director at Vodafone UK, said: "British business clearly understands that motivation and job satisfaction are more than about money - work-life balance and feeling supported at work are also vitally important."
Of those who work remotely through wide area networking systems, over three-quarters claim that the technology boosts their job satisfaction.
Recently, a study by LifeSize found that two-thirds of small to medium-sized enterprises in the UK have not introduced flexible working due to the perceived difficulties of integrating the technology.
It was found that only 33 per cent of the firms have brought in services to enable workers to operate remotely.
