Cloud can provide 'extra security' for firms
Cloud computing can provide extra security for firms, a specialist has noted.
This could mean stricter security for wide area networking systems, as there are a number of security and regulatory measures to adhere to when using the technology, a Techworld representative has asserted.
John Dunn, security editor at Techworld, said: "The security layer the companies have, the security software and products they buy and the infrastructure they run means there is a real move to actually buy that as a service."
Mr Dunn went on to say that a cloud layer between businesses and their customers makes it more difficult for "man in the middle" malware attacks to happen.
Security is more important than ever for firms, with IT security consultant Kevin Wharram predicting that data control will be a key issue for firms in 2012.
Mr Wharram believes that the influx of new devices will mean that there is more potential for customers to be hit by malware and data theft
