8el launch a third data centre, outside of London
Reading, October 2010 – 8el launch a third data centre, outside of London
For many organisations, building and maintaining a growing enterprise data centre is an expensive, time consuming and difficult to manage proposition. 8el's newest server colocation site located in Slough, provides customers with a secure, scalable infrastructure with 24/7 network monitoring.
The new data centre in Slough was commissioned in response to customer feedback and is strategically located 20 minutes outside the central London “risk zone”, outside the main M25 London orbital route with close proximity to the main fibre route.
The data centre features a state-of-the-art network environment, environmental infrastructure, a diverse grid connection and is ISO9001 and ISO27001 compliant. Specially trained and highly experienced systems and network engineering staff actively manage and maintain the facility around the clock 24x7.
“We are very excited about the breadth and depth the addition of this Colocation site brings in response to our customers demands” states David Paris, Director of Operations at 8el.
“This addition to our portfolio offers the highest level of security compliance and environmental resilience for our customers’ mission-critical systems. The centre provides flexible space, aimed at both enterprise customers requiring tens of racks, to smaller requirements that may only need a half-rack.
The purpose built site boasts:
- Individual cabinets to full caged/private suite areas available
- Resilient and redundant architecture throughout to N+N
- Power available from 10amps to 32amps per rack
- ISO27001-2005 and ISO9001-2000 accreditation and SOX compliance
