In an IT centric world, we are increasingly used to controlling our work activities via a computer screen. The XPad softphone from 8el takes it that one stage further.
The XPad softphone enables users to access a whole host of phone services via an easy-to-use ‘pop up’ user interface.
In essence, the user can control a traditional looking, physical IP handset by ‘pairing’ with the XPad. Once ‘paired’ with an IP phone handset via a simple user login, the user friendly XPad software allows users (through TAPI integration) to click to dial, activate call features and answer calls.
The XPad features echo cancellation and enables instant messaging functionality and is compatible with Windows, Mac, Citrix, RDP and VDI.

- Instant Messaging - Users can communicate through a chat window
- Click to dial – The ability to call someone by clicking on the Outlook contact details on your PC or a range of other applications, pre configured using the macro button
- Pairing - Allows the soft client to operate an IP phone providing support for a hot desk environment.
- Stand alone - Where the IP client can work as a unit on the PC with a headset
- Client upgrades - When features are added to the IP Centrex platform an upgraded version of the XPad is sent out to the end users via a centralised MSI install file.
- Disabled features - This feature automatically ‘greys out’ icons on the soft client that have been disabled within the CAP
- Display panel - Make calls, answers calls, disconnect or reject call, displays call duration, displays user and extension, pairing button, stop or start recordings.
- Audio panel – Microphone and volume control.
- Plus feature panel - Conferencing button, Voicemail, Call history, contact - address book, Instant Messaging
- Forwarding control - Ability to select and control forwarding rules via the XPad
- Number pad - Allows users to dial numbers from a pull out number pad on the display panel.
- XPad PABX - Redial, Transfer - forward calls, hold call, active call group management.
